When the real Gospel and the person of Jesus appeared in 2005, I was given a picture from which to assemble the puzzle. Or, a map through the maze. As Trinity now reveals more of the picture to me, as the pieces of The Larger Story appear as an ever increasing mural, now I can see what I could not see before. And the horizontal line represents the division between “above the line” (the place where I find God’s love and truth and peace and nourishment) and below the line (this broken world in which we must operate). Above the line reveals the picture so the puzzle pieces can fall into place. I once was blind, but now I see. I once was lost in a maze, but now I am finding my way. Not my compass, but His. I have found the Psalms being sung in these present day worship songs.  This one,  "The Fathers House" by Cory Asbury, is a beautiful moving profound anthem... I am calling these present day creations "Psanghs" which combines the elements of the tear filled hope giving pages of the Psalms with the uplifting, restoring songs of today that wipe away those tears.  God has sung to my heart with this one.    A riddle for my listeners:  "What is the name of God's best gift to us?"   The answer:  The Present.   Maya Angelou wrote: "If you must look back, do so forgivingly.  If you must look forward, do so prayerfully.  However the wisest thing you can do is be present in the present... gratefully"  Keeping that in mind and making it a habit is like turning up the oxygen level in my heart.

What is Recovery?
Recovery is getting back something you have lost. It is getting back to a healthy and happy lifestyle, even if you
don’t remember ever having one. All of us found that we had habits, hang-ups and behaviors that were hurting
us and standing in the way of our happiness. Too often in this world full of pain we choose relief (alcohol,
drugs, sex, shopping, TV, etc) over restoration, and it’s a fruitless journey over the long haul.
What is Celebrate Recovery?
Celebrate Recovery is a biblical and balanced program that helps us overcome our hurts, hang-ups, and habits.
We all have hurts and if we don’t walk through them authentically with Jesus, we can get hung-up and pursue
destructive habits. Celebrate Recovery is a safe place to work through them. This Jesus-centered 12 step
program is open to anyone looking for freedom.
Why am I talking about this?
Because I see people getting healed right and left in the Church of the 12 Steps. Whether it be CR or any other
12 step community that loves the hurting, practices safe, confidential fellowship and sharing their stories of
struggle or victory. Honestly, for these groups that allow God His place at the table, I think its what He would
want His Church to look like.
